David Smithey, Chairman and CEO
Mr. David Smithey has served as the Chairman and CEO of TradePortal.com, Inc. since March of 2000 and was the original founder of TradePortal LLC in November of 1998. His vision for developing a state-of-the-art direct access software platform was instrumental in securing a 6MM dollar Series A Preferred financing from Primark Corporation in March of 2000 and an additional 1.7 Million software advance funding from Beta Systems in April of 2001. Mr. Smithey was re-engaged as CEO of the company in April 2003, he is responsible for the management of the companys enterprise suite trading application. He has authored numerous papers on direct access execution, provides legal expert testimony for several law firms and is an industry recognized leader on direct access trading systems technologies. He holds the B.A. degree from Auburn University, influenced by his studies on Von Mises Austrian Economics. He served as an Infantry Captain during Desert Storm and is a VFR rated pilot. Mr. Tim Milovich is Co-Chairman of TradePortal.com, Inc. and joined the company in May 2004. He has gained wide-ranging expertise in strategic marketing, business development, financial management, planning and business operations. He is uniquely qualified to lead the company in its efforts to become a market leader in the financial services industry. As a member of the Perot Systems' pre-IPO leadership team, Milovich contributed significantly to the development and execution of new business strategies, structuring of long-term client relationships and business development. He managed the U.S. sales and project offices, with responsibility for the development of Internet and extranet object-based systems for Fortune 500 clients. Previously, he co-owned Technical Resource Connection, a consulting firm, which was sold to Perot Systems. Milovich has been instrumental in identifying potential investors for various companies, as well as negotiating and raising significant equity-financing from premier investment organizations including American Express, Disney, Intel, Novell and Galileo. He has participated in several pre-IPO companies through to initial public offering. Milovich began his career after serving in the U. S. Marines for 10 years. Natarajan Ravichandran, CTO
Natarajan Ravichandran (Nravi) is the Chief Technology Officer of TradePortal.com, Inc. with over 22 years of experience in Software Engineering and development in various platforms and operating systems. Out of these 22 years, Ravi has spent 16 years being an intrapreuner with three software ventures.
He spent nine years with Rebus Technology developing successful and international awards winning enterprise class products. During these years Nravi co-invented mass textual indexing and retrieval system and was awarded US Patent (No: 5,706,365) under the invention title “System and method for Portable Document Indexing using N-GRAM word decomposition”.
In his previous ventures Nravi managed India Development Centers for highly successful product development organizations, managed listed companies and headed STPI units that provided Off-Shore software development services. He brings a unique technology & hands-on oriented managerial style to the companies he is associated with. He has extensive experience in algorithms development, development of reusable software components and software standardization. His experience in the financial industry, electronic stock markets and banking industries brings tremendous insight to the companies.
Nravi holds Bachelors degree in Mathematics (B.Sc) from University of Madras; Masters degree in computer applications (MCA) from University of Madras; and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneshwar.
